Ministry of Education and Sports — Rehabilitation and Expansion of NTC Kabale & NTC Mubende

Description of Work

TECO was engaged by the Ministry of Education and Sports to provide consultancy services for the needs assessment and preparation of designs, bills of quantities, bidding documents and provision of technical supervision to rehabilitate and expand National Teachers' Colleges (NTCs) in Kabale and Mubende. The project was World Bank funded. The team comprised an Education Specialist, Education Economist, Architect, Structural & Civil Engineers, Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, Land Surveyor and ICT Specialist. Services included needs assessment, site layout plans, brief development, outline proposals, scheme and detailed designs, working drawings, specifications, BOQs and bidding documents, prequalification of contractors, bid analysis and recommendation for award, and contract supervision including interim certificates, instructions and details and Final Account. Proposed new buildings included a library block and administration block at NTC Kabale, lecturer rooms and laboratory complex, and staff apartments.
